EngraveStudio & Windows 10

Post by JoDrRe » Thu Nov 08, 2018 10:23 pm

Hi all!

We have a EGX-350, and we recently upgraded the computer running EngraveStudio from Windows 7 to WIndows 10 (new machine).

I installed the drivers and software, the computer sees the engraver as a printer (which I believe is correct behavior?), but when I go in to calculate a toolpath it says it can't find the engraver, make sure it's on, etc.

I've tried different USB cables/ports, reinstalling the software, reinstalling the drivers, rebooting all the things, and the computer itself can see it but not the software. EngraveStudio and drivers are the latest version on the Roland site.

Any other suggestions or troubleshooting tips?

Ninja edit: DrEngrave also can't see it. Which makes me think it's a driver issue, but I triple-checked that I'm using the latest driver (1.2 for 64 bit)

Have you updated EngraveStudio to the latest version? You can download the updater from - http://download.rolanddg.jp/en/3d.html#engravestudio

Yup, I have v2.15 installed.

Does the order of installation matter? I had previously downloaded v2.15 with the previous computer and had it on a network drive, so when I went to install on this computer I just installed that (skipping v2.0 on the CD). During troubleshooting I installed the version that came on the CD and then ran the update with the same result.

Try removing the driver completely by first deleting from the printers screen and then from program list.

The delete the driver package using the printui /s command.
