CutStudio Question

Post by waynetbun » Mon Jun 29, 2020 3:58 pm

Hi all, have been reading posts and posts about trying to make CutStudio work, and I'm struggling.

I bought a Roland GS-24 cutter second hand of a friend of a friend using a mac and illustrator etc, so have seen it all working with my own eyes.

BUT...

I have a mac running High Sierra, using Illustrator CC2017, but can't make the CutStudio extension work. I have installed the plug in, it is there in extensions within Illustrator, but as soon as I try to open the extension, it crashes illustrator.

Been reading many places that the two softwares do work together, but also in the same breathe don't like to talk to each other.

So am I missing something? or is there an alternative software that I can use? otherwise its turning this cutter into a very expensive coffee table.

Any help gratefully received, I promise once i'm up and running i'll post more and not needy questions like above.

There are known issues for working with Illustrator CC17 with High Sierra, due the 32 bit elements within Illustrator.

The latest version of Illustrator works correctly with the CutStudio add-on.
