I didn't notice an update yesterday - there was one last week, and it was still working after that.

I just tested it and yes, it is still working, but, I don't know if I am about to get another update in the next few days.

Hi Kai,
surely Roland DG is a big enough company to have some clout with Adobe, can Roland not demand to be part of the alpha testing of illustrator releases? Then your users don't need this pain continuously. We spend the majority of a year not being able to use Cutstudio and then for a few short months it works fine. Then Adobe update again - and saying don't update isn't the answer... it sometimes happens automatically plus, why make us suffer for Roland's lack of foresight?
Hoping things won't take too long to sort.
cheers
Teresa

Totally Agree Teresa,
Surely a company like Roland could have designed a brand new piece of software to handle their plotters, Cut studio is ancient with no weed lines etc.
Im changing to Graphtec in the new year, I cannot put up with using older versions of illustrator, when designers are using the latest version.

Working with updates to the Adobe platform is difficult, not only because each release like this is a full product version release, instead of a new product build. You may only get an update a few days prior to a release and at that point a final build may not be available to test, on initial builds the add-on may still have full functionality. Due to this the development cycle is longer running.

Looking at other plugin providers, the two main ones providing similar output methods have the same issue, currently FineCut only supports CC18 and below and Graphtec Pro Studio only supports CC19.

If you are looking for better methods of output to the machine, then FlexiSign or Signlab would give you much more control for both output and editing.

In this instance Japan have advised that the update will be released at the beginning of next month, and we have a work around for Windows based users.

Copy the CutStudio folder from the plugins directory of CC19 and paste into the same folder of CC20.

Run the program and you should get the choice of machines.

Finally If you are using CutStudio on PC, there is already functionality for weed borders.
