VS-640 Cartridge Not Recognised

Hi. I recently encountered an issue where I was attempting to print grey in an image and it came out green. Investigating it, I discovered that the Light Magenta cartridge was not being recognised as having ink (the Versacamm does not bleep as if there is a missing cart), even when replaced with a new cartridge and a test print shows nothing from that channel.

That's not a cartridge issue. You need to change your captop every 6 months if you have white ink in the machine. Now it way beyond that point and you may have a ruined print head.

So, start with a new captop, check that your cleaning function works (ink dripping in the drain bottle when cleaning).
