Massive problems with brand new GR-640 cutter

Post by DavyStevenson » Mon May 22, 2017 10:57 am

Hi, Just wondering if anyone else on here with a GR-640 cutter is having problems? We got our installed 3 weeks ago and haven't been able to use it since :-( When 1st installed the engineer couldn't get .eps files to load into cut studio so downloaded an add in for Illustrator which is terrible. If we load a cut only job into versaworks, rip it using the ej-640 queue then transfer it to the gr cutter queue, it seems to cut randomly. So far I've lost could of the number of sheets its destroyed. Also if you try to cut a sheet which has crop marks it only reads the 1st 3. When it tries to read the 4th it appears that the vacuum is switched off and the sheet lifts. Apparently there a firmware update due out today to fix these problems but I'm not overly hopeful that it will work.

Any help / advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Davy,

With regards to the crop mark issue that you were experiencing is everything now running correctly with your machine?
