'3D Copyright'

Post by Andrew Dudley » Tue Jun 19, 2012 3:07 pm

An interesting article from last month regarding the issues with 3D file shares and copyrights. Which is interesting now as the iModela has a similar scope to 3D printers to recreate you own items for games etc.
I believe the issue is more the public sharing of the information, or in this case the 3D design file, rather than making something in your own home for personal use. Just be wary of putting more than a photograph of your design on the model.

Has anyone else experienced this, or have any views? Should these companies feel honoured that people copy their ideas, or should the creator of the 3D file in this case been more careful with what he did with it?
