During tool change and mid cut the machine stops and displays this error. Is it a problem with air pressure? we run it at a constant 100 psi. It picks up the toll fine but then stops. Have been trying to cut hard chemical wood. any help or recommendation welcome.
Thanks
Cameron
MDX-540 Z overload (peak) error?
Re: MDX-540 Z overload (peak) error?
The error usually means that the machine needs to lubricated, this error points to the ball thread not being lubricated.
Apply grease to entire surface of the Ball Thread.

The grease we use normally is called Floil and looking at the notes the grease for the grease gun is listed as AFB grease.

Solution
Remove all material from the table and perform regular maintenance(in users manual) and move the table manually with hands a few inches from the fault area. When the unit is powered on the fault should no longer come up.

Re: MDX-540 Z overload (peak) error?
The only problem with the air for the tool change could be if you do multiple tool changes in quick succession and it drains the air compressor reservoir.
Usually give the machine (including inside the Z axis bellows) a good clean out and lubrication as Kai suggested is the first port of call, if problems persist after that we can advise you if you call our tech support line.
