Label printing with LEF-20
Label printing with LEF-20
Hello,
From time to time, I need to print labels on vinyl film using my LEF-20 (we don't have another printer at the moment, only vinyl cutters). I was wondering if there is a simple way to lay down a rectangle of vinyl (witht its paper backing) on the printer surface (13x21"). RIght now I am using good old masking tape all around, but not very effective.
Thanks!

Hiya,
There is a vacuum bed attachment available for the LEF-20, or alternatively you can get a 'tack-pad' kind of thing, which works a bit like one of those anti-slip pads you get for a phone in your car etc. If you call the Roland offices and speak to OMT (order management) they can find the part/price etc.
The vac-bed is great but may be a little pricey if it's just for vinyl every now and then.

How much is it? We also manufactured a standalone slide in and out vacuum bed for LEF-20 but our own price was so high that we didn't expect it to be sellable.

Can't remember...but around 1500 Euro ish

Yeah, I saw that thing with the small fans incased in a perforated block. It should do the trick, but my impression also this thing is priced $1000 over its value. I think I could make a similar one for myself.

Re: Label printing with LEF-20
Thank you for your enquiry via our website.
The price for the Digivac for the Roland LEF200 (works for the LEF20 as well) is £1595+VAT with delivery of £19.95+VAT.
The vacuum sits on top of the bed and limits the available printable product height to 38mm (from the 100mm).

I've also seen a home made one from a customer which was pretty good and quite a bit thinner so less height loss. But the tac pad is the easiest and cheapest option and works great.

Now I can see how it is put together, its just fans and a rechargeable battery pack . . . . I know theres a little bit more to the engineering than that, but no reason why you couldn't make your own adhoc solution. (Its easier for me as I have laser cutters
