Offered a used BN20

Post by dotcolour » Wed Mar 20, 2019 4:54 pm

We've run a GX24 for a number of years, a BN20 has popped up possibly locally to buy. It has an electrical inspection label on which goes back to 2013 - this is in a repossessed business unit so I'm assuming that if it's the original head and without anybody who knows the general history - what would be the opinion on the value or what to offer/look for in testing. I'm already aware than a new head and dampers etc is going to be an expense based on if it's a DX7 head and will need replacement sooner rather than later

If its been off for a while, then head is likely kaput anyway.... and the cost of the head is a major part of the machine.

I would say it was in constant use up until about 4-6 weeks ago, obviously I'd give it a good testing first but at 5yrs and on it's original printhead - based on my previous experience of Epson printheads, it will be sooner rather than later to replace it
